For thousands of years women have surrounded themselves with matriarchs — strong women with the necessary knowledge and experience to bring new mothers along, so they don’t have to handle any part of pregnancy, labor, deliver, or even raising their children, alone. Somewhere along the line, things changed, and many women don’t have the same tribe that we used to. A Doula, or a “servant in labor,” can fill that need.
